Community Advisory Board

“Improving the health, safety, and quality of life of all community members by working collaboratively to reduce and end homelessness in our community.”

Purpose

The Community Advisory Board (CAB) acts as an advisory body to the Community Entity (CE) for the Cochrane District providing guidance on issues of homelessness in the community. It will provide input on service planning, funding allocations and the coordination of the homelessness services system.

The CAB will:

  1. Support a strong systems approach to homelessness in the Cochrane District area based on key principles (client-focused, collaborative, coordinated, committed, creative).
  2. Provide input and recommendations to the Cochrane District Social Services Board (CDSSAB) in its role as the “Community Entity” in administering Reaching Home Funds to ensure continuous improvement in response to homelessness.
  3. Develop a coordinated approach to addressing homelessness in the region that aligns with the Community Entity’s Strategy on ending homelessness and other information related to homelessness priorities.
